AMBASSADOR VISITS TORONTO/MISSISSAUGA YEMENI
COMMUNITY FOR 2013 EID AL ADHA

This year, Ambassador Khaled Bahah, his wife Rima and young son Mahfoudh, broke with tradition and rather than hosting an Eid Al Adha celebration at the Residence in Ottawa, they decided to replace it with a Fall gathering later on.   Instead, they found themselves heading to Toronto, where they had been invited as guests to join members of the flourishing Toronto/Mississauga Yemeni community in their celebration of the first day of Eid Al Adha on October 15.

They arrived in Mississauga for the festivities on a magnificent day when the weather was more like Spring than Fall,  and enjoyed an exceptional experience in the company of some of the most accomplished and vibrant Yemeni-Canadians who have chosen to call the Toronto region home.  Indeed, this particular area is recognized as the ultimate Canadian metropolitan centre, known for its blend of effervescent energy, economic growth and astounding diversity.  The Yemeni Canadian community have thrived in this environment and are a good reflection of these ideals.  It was a fascinating day of celebration, friendship and the discovery of many inspiring success stories.
