Ambassador Hosts Yemeni Soccer Team to Victory Bar BQ

The torrential rains could not dampen the spirits of members of the Yemeni Soccer Team on July 24th. 2009. The members of “Alittihad” or “Ottawa United” had much to be happy about. They had recently returned from Toronto where they had won the North American Yemeni Championships for the second year in a row, and were now being hosted to a very special Victory Bar BQ by His Excellency Khaled Bahah at his Residence.

Ambassador Bahah was equally delighted and shared in the tremendous excitement along with the team, the coach and Board Members of the Yemeni community. His speech was extremely enthusiastic and he commended the team and community on their hard work, success and above all their important contributions to society . Guests were treated by Chef Mehmet’s delicious multi-cultural fare, including an array of Yemeni and Canadian dishes.

The event was such a huge success that the team has promised to win again next year if the Ambassador rewards them by treating them to another wonderful Bar BQ!
