LECTURE BY DR MUHAMMAD YUNUS - IDRC


Ambassador Bahah attended the ceremony to confer an Honorary Doctorate of Laws upon Dr. Mohammad Yunus at Carleton University on September 1st, 2010. Dr.Yunus, is a Nobel Peace Prize Laureate in recognition of his extraordinary anti-poverty efforts. He is the recipient of the World Food Prize, the US Presidential Medal of Freedom and Bangladesh’s Independence Day Award.

Dr. Yunus is widely applauded as the founder of the Grameen Bank which promotes the concept of micro-credit – small, low-interest loans that have changed the lives of many of the poor and marginalized.

He is an economist, author and acknowledged world-wide as a profoundly inspiring lecturer. His Excellency was deeply touched by his words and wishes that by listening to his speech, you may also be convinced of the overwhelming power of the individual to influence and transform the hearts and minds of humanity.
